Upcoming Events

I was just updating the “Appearances” section of the website when I received a lovely note from the folks at the Gallo Center for the Arts in Modesto, CA, where Eben will give a keynote address this June. They said

“The Gallo Center for the Arts is eager to introduce Dr. Alexander to his fans in Modesto and other communities in California’s San Joaquin Valley.  It is an honor to be able to present the author of the wonderful “Proof of Heaven: A Neurosurgeon’s Journey into the Afterlife.”

The feeling is mutual, Gallo.  The Gallo Center is a terrific venue, and it should be a great event. In fact, Eben has a lot of wonderful events in the works.  If PROOF OF HEAVEN left you with questions, you may be especially interested in attending one of his presentations.  They often include a Q&A portion, and audience members have sparked some wonderful, thought-provoking discussions. The events calendar on this site is perfect in many respects, but it can be difficult to search for Eben’s visits to a particular location.  So here’s a heads-up on upcoming presentations for the next couple of months, sorted by geography rather than date:

April 12 - 13 The Consciousness of Immortality Conference – Sedona, AZ

April 15 Eternity of Souls and their Connections – Phoenix, AZ

April 17 Eternity of Souls and their Connections – Tucson, AZ

May 29 - June 1 16th Annual International Energy Psychology Conference – Phoenix, AZ

April 2 ACISTE & IANDS Present Dr. Eben Alexander – San Diego, CA

April 29 IFSR Presents Dr. Eben Alexander – Mission Viejo, CA

April 24 Faith and Life – Plymouth, MN

New Jersey:

May 3 Mind-Body-Spirit Expo – Somerset, NJ

New York:

May 7 Intelligence Squared Debate: Death Is Not Final

For a full list, be sure to click on the “Appearances” tab above or this link.  And if you’re looking for a specific location in the future–wondering, say, when Eben is speaking in Illinois–try this trick: while you’re visiting the “Appearances” page, hold down the “ctrl” key (on the bottom row of your keyboard) and type an “F”. In most English-language browsers, a box will pop up to let you search the web page you’re on.  Type a space and then “IL” (for Illinois, in this example), and the search box will reveal that Eben has a presentation scheduled in Wheaton, IL, on July 19.

  1. Hi, Deb,

I had this idea awhile back and since you mentioned the “wonderful and thought provoking” Q & A sessions at the good Doctor’s personal appearances I’ll suggest it now.

Since most of us cannot attend these presentations for one reason or another, how about taping some of these and putting out some of these Q & A sessions, or edited transcripts of such. Or, if you’ve already taped some of these releasing those here on Dr. Alexander’s site?

I’m sure many besides myself would love to have access to these.

I’m teaching a class on PROOF OF HEAVEN for the L.I.F.E. program at the local comm. college. Our class is wondering if, when his sister/angel guide tells him “There is nothing you can do wrong”, does that apply only to Eben or is it universal? Because if it is the latter, well, some in the class asked about Hitler….

Unfortunately, I was not able to attend his book signing a couple weeks ago in SE PA.; otherwise, I would have tried to ask him there. If he could give me some direction on this before our last class on April 28, I would much appreciate it.

And please convey to Dr. Alexander a profound appreciation for the work he’s doing in showing that true science goes vastly beyond a materialistic/atheistic world view, a view I once subscribed to before I had an NDE 43 years ago at 24. Back then it was almost dangerous to tell anyone about it (pre- the Dr. Moody era); I do know now that chance is an illusion and everything happens for a reason. It seems clear why God chose Eben as a sort of modern “prophet”; the question is whether the world listens.

      Hi Len,
That is a great question. Only Eben himself can tell you what he heard and felt, but I can try to paraphrase the answer I’ve heard him give. He heard that comforting message in the place or plane he called “the core,” and that “there is nothing you can do wrong” message is applicable to that realm. So in one sense, it is universal–the message wasn’t for Eben alone, but for all of us. But in another sense, it is specific–not to a person, but to a place. It is certainly possible to do wrong in this world, but Where Eben was, he was safe, loved, and could do no wrong. (This is a bit irreverent of me, but his description of the feeling sometimes reminds me of a blissed-out baby in its mother’s arms.)

I attended Dr. Alexander’s talk last night in Plymouth, MN, and enjoyed it very much. I’ve read the book twice and watched 2 DVD presentations by Dr. A, I find his experience fascinating, especially in view of his being a neurosurgeon and understanding the brain and its functioning so well. Unfortunately, I had to step out and missed most of the short Q & A session, so I’d like to second the suggestion by Michael Williams above, that something be done to record and publish the questions and answers, preferably without a lot of editing.

Hope to see Dr. Alexander on our side of town sometime in the future.

Eben Alexander, M.D.

Dr. Alexander, a renowned academic neurosurgeon, spent over three decades honing his scientific worldview. He thought he knew how the brain and mind worked. A transcendental Near-Death Experience (NDE), in which he was driven to the brink of death and spent a week deep in coma from an inexplicable brain infection, changed all of that – completely!
